Sister delivered first baby here. The OB nurses were very helpful and friendly. The nurse manager was not very friendly and acted bothered when asked for help which made us all feel uncomfortable. Aside from her the staff was wonderful and made the overall experience a good one.

Not friendly at all. I heard a lot of problems.. With care...u call them to talk about cares that you are having. They at like u are bothering. When u need care for health issues. Very upset with this clinic. Worst place in Tama to have ur cares....unknown...
Dr. Tigges is an amazing doctor! Delivered our 4th child here and I wish I would have known how great they were sooner. All the staff from admitting, the ultrasound techs, and the OB staff made my hectic pregnancy so easy.
As a patient and as a care provider at a residential facility that frequents this hospital, i can say the hospital needs work. While the ER is currently being redone, i can not say the new facilities would change the quality of care they give. The ER staff are frequently aggressive and will not update family/ providers in the waiting room on patients condition unless asked even in serious cases. Many of the local Doctors who practice there are ableist as heck and clearly have not been trained in ethical practice beyond an online certificate class. The exceptions are usually either visiting specialists or private practice. The Hospitals attempts at providing Mental Health outpatient services have been dismal at best to the point that a practice from several towns over had extended its role into the Grinnell community to attempt to meet the enormous local need. Despite all this, the Hospital is definitely well kept and managed by their cleaning workers. Excluding the ER, the secretary staff are well organized, timely, and well informed. Radiology and phlebotomay definitely are just as put together. Not the worst hospital uice had to deal with in my life, but improvements need to be made.
Update ... my daughter whos 1 hurt her head and the receptionist told my dad she didnt need to be seen she was acting just fine... My daughter was diagnosed with a concussion last time I checked concussions arent "fine" really getting sick of the rude staff
